Step 1: Download the ‘Form 49A’from the official website of the digital India Portal
Step 2: Fill in the details in the application.
Step 3: Attach your signature and photograph to the application.
Step 4: Upload the form 49 A and the required documents.
Step 5: Pay the fees for the PAN card application.
Step 6: You will get the acknowledgement number to track your PAN card application status.
Once the documents are verified, a PAN card will be issued within 15 days.
There are two ways to download an e-PAN Card from the official website of Digital India Portal –
Download e-PAN Card through Acknowledgement Number –
- Enter the acknowledgement number
- Enter ‘Date of birth’
- Write the captcha code and click on submit
- An OTP will be sent to the registered email address or mobile number
- Enter the OTP and download the e-PAN Card
- 2. Download e-PAN Card through PAN Number –
- Enter the PAN and Aadhaar number
- Provide the applicant’s date of birth
- Add GSTN number (if provided)
- Tick the guidelines and enter the captcha code
- Click on ‘Submit’ and enter the OTP which is sent to the registered email address or mobile number

- Do’s and Don’ts for Filling up the PAN Card Form 49 A Update Form –
- The form must be filled using only capital letters
- Fill in all the fields for updating
- A mobile number is compulsory for any updates to take place
- Fill out the form in English and the local language used at the time of enrolment
- Make sure the form is filled only with current and relevant details
- Names must not have salutations such as Mr / Mrs / Ms / Dr
- Make sure that the complete address is filled for the PAN to be dispatched to the address
- Enter your name clearly with your signature or thumbprints when self-attesting supporting documents
- Attach relevant documents that support the required update only
- Incorrect information and lack of support documents will cause the application to be rejected
